From the great tragic lovers Romeo and Juliet, to Moonrise Kingdom, we’ve been conditioned to think that behaving like teenagers is intrinsically romantic – never mind truth, it’s better to live a dream, live in the moment. I mean, you only live once right? Bad catchphrases aside, and even with this knowledge that we could have been duped by the movies, we can’t help but be partial to the idea of a great escape.
This time, it applies to fashion too. Stradivarius‘ Spring/Summer campaign is all about retreating to faraway lands. It could be the breezy, nautical feel of stripes, gingham checks and plimsols; or of flower crowns and light-drenched fields in the 70s-inspired bohemian maxis, floral jumpsuits and hippie blouses; or even flowy kimono kaftans in all kinds of exotic mosaic prints based off Morocco. Suede or fringe, flowing trenches or denim, the point is, you don’t have to book a flight to feel like you’re miles out of here.
Stradivarius Spring/Summer 2015 collection, priced from $7.90 to $229. Available at all Stradivarius stores, including ION Orchard, #B2-15. stradivarius.com
