Can you imagine days going by in Singapore where the sun doesn’t set? Just thinking about it makes us perspire in our cool air-conditioned office. Thankfully, that phenomenon will never happen here. But for Iceland, one of the countries closest to the Arctic Circle, there comes a period of time where the country experiences total darkness during the winter months, followed by days when the sun is out for 24 hours. This is when Icelanders celebrate in merriment, especially on the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice (21 June).

To kickstart the series of Solstice parties, bartender and Reyka’s brand ambassador Joe Petch has created four delicious cocktails. Reyka, which means steam in Icelandic, is the first vodka born in Iceland, made of the country’s natural resources and uniquely distilled for ultimate purity. The unique taste comes from the combination of five key elements – the clean and crisp Icelandic spring water, the small batch Carter-Head Still, lava rock filtration (touted as one of the best and most natural filtration processes), the use of geo-thermal energy during production and the clean Icelandic air. Gather your friends and throw an Icelandic-style Solstice party with these cocktails.
