Oh, the melodrama of a telenovela. These Spanish versions of soap operas usually see a couple fighting against all odds to stay together, a villain who does his or her best to keep said couple apart at all costs, and an ending that usually involves a wedding, the villain dying/going to jail/going insane. The storylines and acting can be exaggerated, but telenovelas are filled with a passion that make them so addictive.

Luisaviaroma’s version of a telenovela takes place in a Mexican motel, featuring bold colours on ironic home and lifestyle pieces that will take centre stage in any room. Toilet Paper for Gufram has ironic designs like an ornamental cactus accompanied by two foam eggs, a giant soap bar pouf, and if you have a taste for the macabre, there’s a polyurethane gravestone simply marked with “THE END”. We also spotted a Seletti Wears Toilet Paper sculpture of a hand flipping off the world, and a Krasznai ceramic bowl with a pair of feet peeking out from the bottom – just the thing to get a good laugh out of making your dinner guests feel slightly uncomfortable.
