Besides the celebration that is set to be of epic proportions come August 9th, it seems like everyone is now in full throttle with the SG50 festivities (i.e. promotions that involve $50 or anything that could potentially have the number “50” involved). There are some really tacky collabs, and some that just don’t make sense. But if you persevere hard enough and sift through the barrage of “SG50 x (insert brand)” partnerships, you’re bound to find a gem or two…

…like Canon’s much loved (and top selling) PowerShot G7 X. To mark Singapore’s golden jubilee, they’ve created a special SG50 Limited Edition model exclusively for Singapore. The camera is accented with a striking red ring control, which is built into the lens barrel for quick and simple adjustments to basic functions. This hue of red represents passion, and is also signature to both Singapore and Canon. The top plate is decorated with the SG50 emblem, which is now synonymous as a celebratory mark among Singaporeans.

The camera’s ZoomPlus technology lets the 4.2x zoom lens be extended up to 8.4x while still preserving high image quality. Other features include a 31-point AF, WiFi and NFC support and a bright f/1.8 lens with a large one-inch type 20.2-megapixel CMOS sensor.

There are only 500 of these up for grabs for $829 at the Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, Harvey Norman and Canon authorised distributors and dealers.
