Many of us are guilty of falling into an eyeliner rut – a boring black cat-eye flick, day in, day out with hardly any room for variation. We’re aware that coloured eyeliner may not be appropriate for all offices, and not everyone has time in the mornings to blend eyeshadow perfectly. So here’s what we’re suggesting: the perfect balance between the familiar cat eye and a bit of drama that eyeshadow can add to your look, spotted on CHANEL’s Fall/Winter 2015 ready-to-wear runway. It’s something that won’t take that long since it’s pretty much similar to your regular cat eye, and won’t attract too much attention at work – perhaps just comments of, “Hey, your eye makeup looks really cool today.”

What you need to nail this look:

 chanel eye makeup

From left to right: Entrelacs palette ($102), Blue Rhythm Collection Ombre Essentielle in No. 118 Midnight ($48) and Blue Rhythm Collection Le Volume de Chanel Ultra-Noir de Chanel in No. 90 Noir Khìl ($52). Available at CHANEL Beauty boutiques and counters.

Using the Entrelacs eyeshadow palette, fill in a cat eye shape with the deep brown shade, intensifying the colour at the outer edges. Then highlight the inner corners of the eyes with the lightest golden beige shade. Line just above the upper lashlines with the Blue Rhythm Collection Ombre Essentielle in No. 118 Midnight for just a bit of definition, and top off with a coat of the Blue Rhythm Collection Le Volume de Chanel Ultra-Noir de Chanel in No. 90 Noir Khìl.
