So many great films coming out in the months to come but the one film that’s got us raving is the highly-anticipated Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, slated for release in March next year. While there are many speculations as to why the Gotham City vigilante takes on Superman, all fingers point to the fear that if Superman is kept unchecked, mankind would be in danger. Remember the battle between Superman and General Zod in Man of Steel? There’s a scene in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s trailer that links both films, as one very observant fan found out.

But another kind of steel is making its debut before we get to see both of them fight it out. Casio Singapore has released a new addition to the brand’s range of premium G-SHOCK timepieces – the G-SHOCK G-STEEL Series. Just like Superman, the G-STEEL watches are designed to be nearly indestructible. They’re encased in a “Layered Guard Structure”, which strengthens the watch with a double layered bezel through the use of a combination of resin and metal for superior shock resistance and durability. Each of these layers has very contrasting colours to exhibit a 3D look. Besides offering both digital and analog time displays, the G-STEEL watches come with Casio’s Hand Concealment Function. A touch of a button temporarily moves the watch hands to clear the way for an unblocked view of the LCD display.

G-SHOCK G-STEEL GSTS110 and GST-S100, $349-$549. Available from tomorrow (14 Aug) at Casio G-FACTORY stores.
