You know how when you’ve pretty much covered the whole of Orchard Road, and you just need a place to rest your tired feet, it’s always impossible to find a good spot. One that’s peaceful, relaxing, without the bustle of multi-chain cafes, not when you want to escape the crowds.
Well then, here comes a pop-up cafe that looks like we just stepped into an English garden – with green lawns, a garden swing and white lawn chairs, Crabtree & Evelyn’s first cafe venture seems like just the place to be. Located at the atrium of Paragon Shopping Centre, they offer both tea and food, in lovely packaging that we’ve come to love, as well as a hand massage session using the beauty brand’s famed hand creams.
Beyond just seeing and buying them from the stores, the cafe invites us to experience their fine food collection for ourselves.
This includes a selection of tea blends, from the quintessential English Breakfast Tea and Earl Grey Tea, to Blackberry Green Tea and Mint Green Tea, baked biscuits such as traditional shortbread and all-butter citron, as well as slow-cooked preserves in either Strawberry and Rose Water or Wild Blueberry and Lavender. A $10 set means we can choose from either biscuits with tea, or preserve served with a warm scone and tea.
Crabtree & Evelyn Pop-Up Cafe, at Paragon Shopping Centre till 3 September.
