Earlier this month, Origins opened its first freestanding store at ION Orchard. We got an overview of the features of this new space, and were definitely impressed – all beauty stores should really be as interactive, yet non-intimidating, as this.

  • A large communal sink to facilitate testing out of the products. As you try them, Origins staff can also give you an informal skincare consultation. It’s all very chill.
  • A sample wall invites you to explore the product samples nearly kept in glass jar, candy store-style – you will indeed feel like a kid in a candy store, with so many things to try before you buy. You’re more than welcome to help yourself; no worries about having to awkwardly ask a store assistant for a sample.
  • If it’s relaxation you’re looking for, there’s a separate display for Origins’ signature bath and body products, for you to curate your take-home spa experience.

The store has also been separated into two distinct themed areas, the Explorer’s Studio and Botanist’s Laboratory. The former features narratives about Origin’s rare ingredients tucked all around the shelves; the latter has white tiles and metal shelves evoking a real laboratory, emphasising the clinical efficacies of Origins’ products.

You’ll have to make a visit to the store to experience it yourself. To start you off, here are our Origins picks:

From left to right: Original Skin Retexturising Mask With Rose Clay, $50; Dr. Andrew Weil for Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin-Relief Micellar Cleanser, $53 (available from October); Clear Improvement Detoxifying Charcoal Body Scrub, $58; GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser, $38; Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask, $59; Peace Of Mind On The Spot Relief, $30.

The Origins store is located at #B3-55/56 ION Orchard.
