It’s that time of the year again: HALLOWEEN. This is where we find the time we usually don’t have, to come up with the most ridiculous costumes just for one night of instagram pictures and (drunken) snapchats. Which brings the question: WHAT ARE WE GOING TO GO AS THIS YEAR?
Forget the cat ears and witch’s costume, because it’s time to get creative. With more and more tv shows & movies with such great potential to receate as costumes, we’re spoit for choice and so we’ve listed a few on our mind…
1. Anger, Joy, Fear, Disgust and Sadness of Inside Out for the group of friends who never know what to dress up as:
Have a party to go to with a group of friends and are absolutely clueless as to what you should go as? go as a group — particularly, a group of personalities in Riley’s head from Pixar’s latest movie, Inside Out. You’ll definitely have something to fit each character. And also, it gives you an excuse to wear a sweater and glasses and mope around all night. Points to you if you could guess which character we’re referring to.
Pick through your wardrobe for a matching sweater and skirt, pearls and if you’re up for it, a fur jacket. If you don’t have one, then it’s time to go shopping! Think preppy & spoilt teenager in a typical high school setting. Except, you’ll need to recruit your Chanel number twos, threes and fours.
3. Alex Vausse, for the lazy “orange is the new black” fanatic AKA the last minute costume
Pop on a pair of your old reading glasses, heavy eyeliner and khaki coloured jumpsuit/shirt & pants combo and you’re good to go. And don’t forget that biting sarcasm.
Get the signature miley look with her double topknot. As for the costume itself: A plain-coloured bandeau swimsuit will do just fine, plus a few fabric markers for doodling, to give your look a little POW! Go wild, but don’t go too crazy.
5. Darla from Finding Nemo, for anyone who likes a bit of #throwback added into the mix
Finding Nemo isn ‘t a new movie neither is it very Halloween-ish, unless you find the thrill in renting large fish costumes with your friends. But there’s Darla, the slightly crazed niece of the dentist in the show who’s freakishly obsessed with Nemo. Yup. All you need: fake braces (which you can make out of wire and bots of aluminium foil), some of your old kiddy clothes and a plastic bag of water. Done!
