Good hair starts from the scalp, people. Basically, research has proven that the amount of blood that reaches the hair follicles decides how much oxygen and nutrients are delivered to the hair; so if you’ve been slathering all kinds of haircare products onto your hair strands without paying any attention to your scalp health, you’re doing it wrong.

While there’s a good selection of scalp care products and services out there, we think it’s more effective in the long run to start scalp care from your daily shampoo and conditioner. Tsubaki’s latest haircare range is all about keeping the scalp nice and soft, using the Tsubaki Koji S, a fermentation extract that creates enzymes required for the fermentation process. Don’t worry; nothing is going to ferment on your head – the Japanese have been using Koji since ancient times to make sake, miso, soya sauce and other fermented foods, and it actually helps these foods to become softer.

What we’ve included in the October edition of the NYLON Singapore x Vanity Trove Beauty Box is the Tsubaki Extra Moist Shampoo and Conditioner, which target unmanageable dry hair and soften it from within with hyaluronic acid, camellia oil alongside the Tsubaki Koji S. The range also includes the Damage Care and Volume Touch collections, to target chemically-treated and flat hair respectively, but the Extra Moist is a good place to start to give hair a general hydration boost.
