Fashion stays relevant by adapting the latest trends in trims, colours and textures, and also knowing what works best during the season. As for brands that seem to have washed ashore by the overlooking of bigger, trendier names, some have completely been wiped out but some choose to work against the tide and fight to stay in-tune with the present. Casual footwear brands like Birkenstocks, Havaianas, FitFlop and Crocs are a few that may seem like they aren’t “fashion-forward” enough to include in your outfit choices but they have since introduced new styles and strangely… they’re trendy enough to see us wearing them out on a regular basis. Take FitFlop’s latest Cruise collection for example. We’ve seen their usual style of slippers on the streets and this latest range caught our eyes with the metallic finishings on their slides (and also reminded us a bit of Marni’s bejewelled ones) alongside these gladiator-like pairs make a perfect summer sandal to prance around in with maxi dresses and skirts. Best part is: they’re ultra comfortable. So, sometimes it’s not all about looking to the ultra-hip brands that we’ve all learnt to love (and also seen to death on the streets). We’ve grown to shy away from these forgotten brands over time but let’s give them a chance, shall we?
