After we got a first look at this at a trade show earlier this year, we’ve had to waited months for this. But we can now stop pining and break our piggy banks for it. It’s a classic case of street-meets-sports as BAPE® returns to collaborate with PUMA once again to make their performance-based shoes more “street” and wearable anywhere else other than the gym. BAPE® was founded in 1993 and quickly rose to be one of the most well-known lifestyle streetwear brands in the world, setting trends and influencing musicians and artists everywhere. They put their signature touch of four sneakers – featuring three of PUMA’s most popular silhouettes – across a mix of materials via paneling or overlays. The original 90s R698 has been blacked out with BAPE®’s black camo treatment while the Disc Blaze is completely decked out in a green camouflage print (there’s also the black/grey version too). The Blaze of Glory, however, stands out like a knight in shining armour and sports a seamlessly white colourway, highlighted by creamier hues and a grey camouflage motif on the uppers.
Apart from the shoes, the PUMA x BAPE® Autumn/Winter 2015 collection also extends to replica football jerseys and matching shorts, the iconic BAPE® Shark Hoodie (which now has PUMA’s name on it for this collection) and Long Coat, as well as other accessories like bags, football socks, headbands, duffle bags and backpack.
The PUMA x BAPE® Autumn/Winter Collection 2015, $50-$690. Available exclusively at Limited Edt stores (Marina Bay Sands, 313@Somerset, Queensway) from tomorrow (12 Dec) onwards.
