We all have a rebellious streak within us, but whether or not we choose to act on it – whether with a cause or not – is a whole different thing altogether. Skateboarding was often seen as rebellious; a kind of creative celebration of independence. However, that image of rebellious, non-conforming youth and reckless rebels has dissipated over the recent years. As much as we want to break out of the system, not all of us are like legendary skateboarder and artist, Sean Cliver. He’s recently teamed up with DC Shoes to come up with a ten-piece collection that showcases his personal style and inspiration of bringing up taboo topics and unapologetic artworks. It’s a collab that’s just waiting to happen because this prolific artist is also the author of Disposable: A History of Skateboard Art – a 228-page, full-colour book that showcase over 1000 skateboard graphics from over the past three decades. So who better to do it with then?

The new collaboration between DC Shoes and legendary skateboard artist Sean Cliver has amalgamated into a ten-piece capsule collection that showcases his personal style and inspiration of bringing up taboo topic and unapologetic artwork. Apparel and footwear, including the Trase Slip-On S and Switch S, are emblazoned with Sean’s custom artwork such as the lunchbox rats, homeless bananas, bunnies and urinating pandas.

Sean Cliver x DC Shoes Collection, $45-$139. Available at all DC Cineleisure Orchard and Quiksilver Orchard Central and VivoCity.
