DC Shoes has been on a roll lately, churning out collabs after collabs. This year saw them partnering up with the likes of known skateboarders and skateboarding brands like Sean Cliver and Ben Davis. This time, they’ve announced a collaboration with New York City’s first skateboard company, SHUT Skates, to release its exclusive SHUT Skates x DC Shoes capsule collection, and for a good cause too. Proceeds from this collection will go to Harold Hunter Foundation to help at risk, inner city youths. This collaboration is more than just a collection of co-branded products as DC Shoes’ Sales Director and legendary pro skateboarder, Jefferson Pang, used to ride for SHUT Skates and was very close to the late Harold. Both brands have supported each other for many years and hope to keep Harold Hunter’s legacy alive and well. It’s also important for the state of skateboarding, as well as the entire action sports industry as a whole. Rodney Smith, founder and CEO of SHUT said, “It is projects like this that show not only skate participants but also BMXers, snowboarders, surfers and motocross riders just how unified and multidimensional brands like DC and SHUT can be. It is a big high five that exudes much respect given to each other for both of our brands’ contributions to the continued growth of skateboarding and all action sports alike.”

The products in this collection pays tribute to The Shark, SHUT’s most iconic shaped decks, and the brand’s 1986 origins as the city’s first skateboard company. The Lynx Prestige S SHUT shoe is a present day interpretation of the Lynx Prestige, complete with the original styling and added details like the classic “SHUT Shark” sublimated graphic on the sockliner, 3M reflective lacing and SHUT tags on the heel counter.
