The Nail Colours We're Currently Obsessed With

If there’s one thing we’re very guilty of hoarding, it’s nail polish. Brands tempt us with new shade launches all the time, and once they slap a special edition packaging on it, we’re sold. These are the five colours that are currently on rotation on our fingers – if trying them all means changing our manicures every few days, then we say that it’s well worth it.
CHANEL Le Vernis in 522 Monochrome

We first tried out this colour, fresh from the Spring/Summer 2016 makeup launches, at the CHANEL x Pedder On Scotts installation (it’s still on till 3 April!). It’s hard to go wrong with grey nails – it’s immediately chic yet understated, and it won’t clash with any colour you’re wearing. Tip: We’d wear Monochrome alternating with the other neutral shades in Chanel’s latest Le Vernis collection, i.e. 520 Garçonne and 505 Particulière.

Dior Vernis in 327 Precious

We’re not fans of wearing anything too sparkly, but when the sparkle is paired with a relatively muted colour like this bronze, we really like the ensuing subtle glamour. Dior has also added a gel effect to its nail polish formulas, so you get a shinier finish that’s supposed to last longer as well. A colour like Precious is glam enough to be used for a big-night-out manicure, yet its not too much for everyday wear as well.

ETUDE HOUSE Berry Delicious Strawberry Souffle Nails in #5
etude house

Like much of the rest of the Berry Delicious range, the Strawberry Souffle nail polish smells like strawberries (which is nice, but still, try not to inhale too much of the fumes). We’re real suckers for confetti nail polish, and this one has bits of silver, mint and yellow in it, which we’d layer on another pastel base for a super-cute manicure.
$5.90, ETUDE HOUSE stores.

M.A.C Charlotte Olympia Studio Nail Lacquer in Old Fashioned

This deep burgundy creme perfectly encapsulates the old-world glamour that the M.A.C x Charlotte Olympia collaboration stands for; the packaging of this one feeds our obsession as well. If you’ve only ever worn classic reds, give burgundy a try – it’s a more unexpected choice that still gives off glamorous vibes.
$26, M.A.C stores and counters from 1 April.

OPI Hello Kitty Cherry Blossom in Dreams Of Spring
opi

Easily our favourite shade from the OPI Hello Kitty range, because it lets us wear pink without having it be too… pink. This creme light lilac is a lot more subdued than the other pinks and reds in the collection, giving off minimalist-chic vibes yet still retaining the essence of spring and cherry blossoms.
$16, selected Watsons and official OPI salons.
