It’s the after party event of the season – for all hardcore burger lovers, that is. This Friday, enjoy al-fresco after-work drinks, burgers, and electronic dance music in the heart of Duxton Hill, in the second edition of Electric Kitchen. Kick off the night with some hearty eats straight from the kitchen of MEATliquor – where you’ll be served best-selling burgers like the Dead Hippie and Bacon Cheeseburger, as well as other savoury bites and MEATliquor cocktails. After dinner, French DJ GRAMOPHILES continues the party in serving up fresh Latin house music, pumped with ethnic vibrancy and catchy rhythms that will have you jiving all night long. We don’t know about you, but we’ll be dancing to the beat of our stomachs tomorrow.

Tulipmania at Gardens By The Bay

Yes, it’s back! For everyone with a soft spot for the beautiful famed tulips of the Netherlands (and who doesn’t, really), these multi-coloured buds are back for the fourth year to grace the Garden Dome. Last year saw a fairy tale-themed affair to delight even the oldest of hearts. This time, they’re set against a stuffing Persian-style backdrop, as a tribute to their lesser-known origins in the ancient Ottoman Empire – also known as present-day Turkey. Feel free to simply wander around in awe of the 40 or so tulip varieties in full bloom, or join a free guided ASK Me! tour to learn about botanical facts and anecdotes regarding the floral display. And the part we’re all most excited about – temperatures are kept to a cooling 23 degrees Celsius within the Dome, which you’ll definitely appreciate when admiring the vibrant view.
Date: 8 April to 22 May 2016
Time: 9am – 9pm
Venue: Flower Dome, Gardens By The Bay
Admission: $8 (child), $12 (adult), $8 (senior citizen)
*Local senior citizens get 50% off ticket price

RIOT! By Becca D’Bus

Singapore’s leading drag show should be next on your list of things to check out over the weekend, especially if you’re a curious first-timer. After a short hiatus, RIOT! is returning to fill our lives with love, laughs, and a whole lot of unapologetic trash talk. The fabulous and flamboyant Becca D’Bus, prominent drag queen of the local drag scene, is definitely the hostess with the mostest, and will kick off the night before ringing in Saturday’s line of performers – Mona Kee Kee, Noristar, and Papa Cherry. Feeling down and out this first week of April? Head down to Clarke Quay and let mama Becca take care of you. You’re in for a real treat.
Date: 9 April 2016
Time: 7pm (doors) 8pm (showtime)
Venue: Shanghai Dolly, Clarke Quay
Admission: $35 to $450 (*Event is 18+)
Tickets available at riot09april2016.peatix.com

It’s eight full hours of queuing, so come with entertainment!
Date: 12 April 2016
Time: 12pm – 8pm
