It’s been nearly three decades since we were introduced to Nike’s iconic Air Max 1 and since then, Nike has been constantly revamping Air Max, each with its easily recognisable visible air sole. With the Air Max’s lightweight design and comfortable sole, it’s not surprising how we’re always so drawn to the Nike Air Max in different colours and designs, time after time. And as usual, Nike’s back to entice us with its Air Max 1, but this time, it’s the lightest one yet. By bringing together the breakthrough Flyknit technology that features a featherweight knitted design and the familiar silhouette of the Nike Air Max 1, what we get is a pair that’s really the best of both worlds.
Helmed by the project’s lead designer Ben Yun, the pair is designed to be extremely breathable, with an open Flyknit construction in the toe and tongue for ventilation and closed construction in the heel to ensure support and comfort. The pair also features the iconic Air Max air sole, something that we really can’t do without.
