Here’s the tricky thing about travelling: we seldom look good doing it. That’s right, we’re talking messy buns, sweatpants, and bulky old carry-ons as we hop on the plane; all while doing so barefaced. But now we’ve definitely got the memo on how to effortlessly look put together the next time we’re flying the globe.
Enter: RIMOWA’s newest collaboration with local contemporary fashion house, Ong Shunmugam. Consisting of 6 unique designs by Ong Shunmugam, this fashion capsule collection entitled “Women With A Mission” holds a meaningful concept behind its release. With the prime purpose of inspiring women of Asia to embark on journeys of exploration and enlightenment, this collection seeks to empower ladies to take a leap of faith into self-exploration – and looking good while doing so.
To make things even more interesting, the 6 revamped RIMOWA Classic Flight cabin cases each represent a travel destination in Asia – namely China, Indonesia, India, Japan, Malaysia and Mongolia. Prints and traditional textiles are thoughtfully incorporated onto the exterior coat of the luggage, while the interior is lined with zany illustrations from local artist Rizibë himself. We’re almost squealing with pride for our homegrown designers here!
Look out for the key look of the collection, which is a brand new design using traditional fabric specially sourced from India. The other five designs, as fresh interpretations of Ong Shunmugam’s iconic looks from her existing collections, are equally interesting as well. Adding to the exclusivity of the collection, only three cabin cases are produced per design. You might want to join us in snatching one for ourselves the moment it releases in October!
Take a leading European premium travel luggage brand and mix it up with the flavour of local talent, and we get the most stunning cabin cases to date.
RIMOWA x Ong Shunmugam: Women on A Mission capsule collection is available from October onwards at RIMOWA stores.
