Zara has hopped aboard the bandwagon of environmental consciousness with its first sustainable collection #JoinLife, an extension of its fall line. The neutral-toned capsule presents itself in materials such as organic cotton, recycled wool, and Tencel, which are all meant to reduce the brand’s carbon footprint.

“The collection embraces a woman who looks into a more sustainable future.” says the website. Guess who we think is truly well-deserving of a good pat on the back for demonstrating such environmental responsibility?

And here’s the good news, the stylish ruffled crop tops, weighty coats and sleek trousers from the sustainable line have similar price points to the usual Zara lineup. In addition to #JoinLife, the brand has also made a conscious decision to ship in boxes made of recycled cardboard, add clothing bins to their stores, and other efforts that are ethically sound in terms of looking after dear Mother Earth. We understand that it takes a lot for fast fashion retailers to cut back and decide to operate with the fashion industry’s resulted environmental problems in mind. So we’re positively grateful to Zara. After all when it comes to saving Gaia, every little bit of effort goes a long way.
