Drop Everything – We've Found Our Perfect Nude Liquid Lip Colour

It’s a long and arduous journey, finding the perfect nude. Despite already owning a whole drawerful of nude-toned lip colours, we continue to add more and more to our collection, all in a bid to find the one that’s just right, the true embodiment of “your lips but better”.
There has been a proliferation of matte liquid lip colour formulas that all promise this, as long as Kylie Lip Kits and ColourPops continue to rule the online beauty world. We’ve tried plenty, each time eagerly sweeping the doe foot applicators over our lips, hoping that this time we had found the right one. But so far, we haven’t – most colours are great, but they either seem to be a little bit too light, or a little bit too dark; a tad too warm, or a tad too cool.
Until, finally, this came along: the NYX Lip Lingerie.

If you’re a close follower of NYX, we’re pretty sure you’ve already been lusting over this range a long time – because how can you not? An entire range of 12 nudes, in a whole spectrum of tones and intensities so that most skin tones will be able to find a suitable shade to give the lips a slight boost (like a good push-up bra).
And it is from these 12 that we found Bedtime Flirt, described as a red-toned pink. Finally we can say: meet our perfect nude. For a relatively fair Asian skin tone with warm undertones, this has just the right colour intensity, and the reddish tinge helps brighten up the entire complexion and convincingly fake rosy lips.

But if you know anything about this NYX range, you’ll know how hard it is to get your hands on them – even in the US, ALL shades are currently sold out on the official NYX site. We got lucky on a recent trip to the US and found a few pieces left in a random pharmacy in LA, but it was clear even there that stocks were running very low.
Apparently, the NYX Lip Lingerie range is slated to launch at Sephora Singapore soon, so keep an eagle eye on the Sephora shelves and on sephora.sg. And once they do become available here, all we can say is: run, don’t walk.
We know it’s stressful, so we’ve also rounded up some alternatives to the Bedtime Flirt shade that probably won’t sell out as fast. From the bottom of our hearts, we hope you find your perfect nude, too.
