It’s tough when your entire outfit looks slightly off due to an uncomfortable disagreement between two crucial outfit coordinates; the skirt and the shoes. Different silhouettes call for different types of shoes, and mastering the perfect shoe length to boot height ratio calls for a lot more than frivolous pairings. And so, we’re bringing to you a simple crash course on how you can nail that proportion effortlessly.
Miniskirts with knee-high boots are practically a match made in heaven. You can never go wrong with pairing your favourite mini with a super sexy pair of knee-highs thats equally modest in covering up some skin, making sure you’re not going off being too wild.
You’d want to avoid looking too prim and proper, so pair these with a pair of spunky ankle boots for that extra dose of edge that’ll spice up any humble ol’ knee-length skirt.
A Kardashian-favourite for sure. So why not do it like they do and wear these with stocking boots? Something skin tight ought to balance the proportion of the bubble-like structure.
If you’re going for a super classy, heritage outfit, you’ve got it. Pair your mid-calf skirt with the IT-item of the season – calf boots.
For something as streamlined and classic as the pencil skirt, it doesn’t hurt to match it with another classic favourite of ours; the loafer. Perfect for the office, and extra comfy too!
When directing all eyes onto the billowing proportions of the skirt hem, keep things simple by making sure that your shoes are adequately not too over-the-top. We’ve chosen a lace-up pair of pumps to add extra definition and interest to our calves.
A Line Skirts
Something as feminine and flirty as a schoolgirl-type skirt should be worn with, well, a pair of sneakers of course.
