Seriously, guys, how cute is this perfume?

If you’re familiar with Mademoiselle La Coquette, the pretty face that adorns the bottle of Lanvin’s Éclat d’Arpège So Cute, you’ll realise she’s looking a little different for the third addition to this fragrance line. Gone are the dramatic spiky lashes that added to her rock ‘n roll chic in the previous Éclat d’Arpège Eyes On You, and instead in their place, a cheeky gaze under expressive yellow lids, and a sultry pink pout. Very charming indeed.

It also really helps that the scent is easy to fall in love with: top notes of zesty Sicilian lemon contrasted with feminine lilac, moving down into a fresh heart of green tea leaves and peach blossom, and then drying down into a familiar yet sensual base of cedar and white musk. It’s a scent that reminds us of spring, arguably the best season, yet remains timeless enough to wear through the months and years. Rule of thumb, people: a good fragrance is one that never goes out of style.

We can tell, because the original Éclat d’Arpège, which bears a largely similar scent, has actually been around for almost 15 years. It first bounced into the collective consciousness in 2002, with that iconic purple spherical bottle and a pair of interlocking golden rings encircling the silver nozzle and crowned with a sparkling gem. It says something that it’s still an icon after all these years, inspiring numerous special editions along the way.

This year, the emblematic Éclat d’Arpège bottle shows a new face to the world with this adorable character that radiates life through her colourful features. Who wouldn’t want to add this to their perfume collection? It’s just… so cute.

Lanvin Éclat d’Arpège Eau de Parfum, $71 to $126; Éclat d’Arpège So Cute Eau de Parfum, $86. Available at major department stores, Sephora and Sasa.
