Pretty pastels and bright rainbow locks may be getting all the attention on social media right now, but they’re not exactly the most practical hair colour to pull off. This is why the latest chocolate-mauve hair is perfect for girls with dark strands.
It was first posted on Reddit by user GayLatte, who is actually New York City hair colourist, Hannah Edelman. The owner of Brush In Hand Salon has just created a dreamy concoction that infuses a hint of summery pastels through a rich chocolate base. Sounds good enough to eat, doesn’t it?
This new hair hue features a gorgeous mix of milky brunette and subtle pinks created by mixing Pravana Vivids hair dyes together. She had five different tints on standby as she hand-painted the colour concoction onto her client’s hair, blending with the existing brown roots of her client. She took irregular sections of hair and spread light-brown shades around her client’s face, followed by mauve and lighter pink hues on her crown layers and a deeper brown throughout the rest of her length for a balayage look.
The darker finish lends a very subtle appearance that’ll be suitable even in a corporate setting. It’s also great news for those who aren’t keen on going light and bright. Although there’s a whole lot of dark shades in this look, Hannah did have to lighten her client’s hair and let her roots grow out more before this hair colour experiment to make the pink shades stand out. But this look is still one for the dark-haired ladies.
