We’re loyal to our holy grail beauty products, but sometimes we like to buy into novelty items because they’re hella fun despite being gratuitous. In the latest fusion of beauty and technology, this Smart Mirror by Panasonic could be a little bit of both.

The Panasonic Smart Mirror made its debut at the Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) in Japan and it’s here to fix every physical flaw on your face with its custom makeup. This futuristic machine will scan your face to analyse your complexion before printing out customised graphs for you to use.

Well, we know what you’re thinking…

But let’s hear it out. The first step of the process is to get your photo taken and (you won’t like this part) point out your flaws, i.e. your visible pores, wrinkles, redness, and even sun damage beneath the skin that’s invisible to the naked eye. Then, the device will print custom patches of makeup to align perfectly with your skin, and it reportedly takes a few minutes to print out your foundation and concealer. When they’re ready, you have to press the sheet against your skin and wet it like you would a temporary tattoo before peeling it off to reveal flawless looking skin.

It’s not being released anywhere in the world yet as it is still a prototype in Japan, but we’re not in a hurry to have access to this machine. It may sound like a vague concept of the future, similar to 3-D printed lipsticks, but the latest iterations of high-tech beauty products seem to be getting more advanced and we’re totally down with that.

UGLY. Here's everything that's wrong with my face. (According to Panasonic.)
