Adidas is definitely no stranger to collaborations, and after a successful partnership last year it looks like the brand with the three stripes will be reuniting with Japanese label White Mountaineering for a spring / summer collection in 2017. Announced on the adidas Originals Instagram page last night, the collaboration seeks to “reinterpret adidas Originals’ technically innovative sportswear”, and will see famed White Mountaineering designer Yosuke Aizawa try his hand at some of Adidas’ most iconic pieces (think windbreakers, sweatshirts and track pants).
Known for his modern and utilitarian aesthetic, Aizawa’s designs feature bold prints on navy, white and black, and features just the right amount of red to make the pieces really stand out. While the collection also features several footwear options, one key piece is the NMD trail — available in black / white and navy / red colorways, the sneaker features a rugged sole that will make it a suitable shoe for rocky paths and city streets alike.
The adidas Originals x White Mountaineering collection is due to have two separate releases — first on the 19th of January, and later again in March. Like any Adidas collaboration these will no doubt sell out the minute they drop, so you might want to get an advance on that red packet money.
