i see so much of hollywood on television and in the movies that i think i know the city; but visiting los angeles for the first time was an eye-opening experience for me. the weather is more beautiful than i could have imagined (ask any uber driver and that’s what they’re most proud of), and the local community is wonderfully diverse. the best part of visiting the city: you can spend as little or as much as you want, and still have a great time. i arrived a week after the presidential election, and to be honest, was expecting to witness at least one street protest. nothing happened though, and i was welcomed to a city that was peaceful and buzzing with tourists like me. by adele chan
