Personal mobility devices like hoverboards and electric scooters are becoming an increasingly common sight on our streets these days, but even the most ardent of supporters have to admit that they aren’t exactly the most stylish of transport options. If you’re looking to satisfy your need for speed while staying Marty Mcfly levels of cool, then the Eon might be the device that’ll put you on the right track.
To put it simply, the Eon is a motor that can be attached to any skateboard or longboard deck, converting it into an electric vehicle that can reach speeds of up to 35 kilometres per hour. While one battery pack can take you 12 kilometres on a single charge, the Eon’s modular design allows you to easily add on additional packs to double the travelling distance and increase your board’s hill climbing capabilities.
While currently only available for skateboard / longboard configurations, the Eon’s creators are already designing their product for use with bicycles as well. Talk about a game changer.
The Eon is scheduled to ship in March 2017 and you can pre-order the solo kit for US$419 (plus shipping) on Indiegogo.
