The Adidas Gazelle is the next sneaker to receive a Summer-ready Primeknit makeover

Considering how popular Adidas’ signature Primeknit has become among sneakerheads, it’s no surprise that the brand with the three stripes has been using the unbelievably comfy material to breathe some new life into older silhouettes. Having already given their flagship Stan Smith and Superstar silhouettes the Primeknit treatment, it looks like the ever-reliable Gazelle is now the next sneaker to receive a modern update, and it just might be enough to finally put these underrated kicks on the same level as its more popular counterparts.

As its name suggests, the upper of the Gazelle Primeknit is predominantly covered in…well, Primeknit, and has a patch of luxurious nubuck running down from the eyelets to the toe box for some variation in material. The sneaker comes in two equally enticing mint green and light orange colourways, and is paired with white accents on the heel, tongue and stripes on the side for a nice bit of contrast. With so mach already happening on top, the lower half opts to keep things simple with a traditional gum sole, though we’re willing to bet that Boost will eventually make its way onto the sneaker in the near future.

The adidas Originals Gazelle Primeknit is available right now, and can be copped online at select Adidas stockists such as Capsule for US$128. The Gazelle has always had a classic Adidas look that often doesn’t get as much love than it should, but this Primeknit upgrade could be the breakthrough that it needs to find a permanent place on our sneaker radars.
