It’s been a long time coming, and the wait has been real. MUJI will finally unveil its highly anticipated, multi-concept store at Plaza Singapura today (21 July 2017).
And of course, with a brand new store, comes brand new deals for you guys to enjoy. But before you go all crazy with excitement, here’s a quick guide of what exactly you can expect at the new store:
3 Days Specials: Mega discounts and great savings
Over the years, MUJI has forged a reputation for providing customers the ultimate satisfaction by creating products that focus on what’s ‘enough’ and doing away with what’s ‘excessive’. And you’ll be able to get a taste of these products at extremely affordable prices with the new store’s 3 Days Specials.
For instance, items like the Ladies’ Organic Cotton Double Gauze & French Linen Wide Series will be going for $15 each, while products considered generally more ‘expensive’ like the Beads Sofa, will retail for a very reasonable $120.
Other great deals to look out for include the Gel Ink Ballpoint Pen 10 piece set (3 for $10.90), socks (3 for $10.90), the Ladies’ and Men’s organic long sleeve t-shirts ($10 each), as well as selected bed linen with discounts of up to 15%.
Opening Day Specials: Spend and get rewarded
Customers who head down to the new store from 21 to 23 July will receive a $10 MUJI Gift Card with a minimum spend of $100 in a single receipt (limited to first 200 customers per day), while folks who spend a minimum of $30 in a single receipt will score a limited edition Cotton MyBag tote – perfect for carrying around after a major shopping spree.
Exclusive Items: Only found at MUJI’s Plaza Singapura Store
Now, there’s even more reason to head down to MUJI’s Plaza Singapura Store besides great deals. The new space will also feature a selection of exclusive items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else in the world.
For instance, there’s the limited edition Foldable Paraglider Bag with a Singapore map printed on it, a Singapore Special Kids Print T-Shirts with prints of Orang Utans and White Tigers, and the re-designed Hard Carry Case in smoky green – a solid luggage carrier that’s perfect for any travel-loving jetsetter.
Design my Bag for a Good Cause
Nothing warms the heart more than doing something for a good cause, which you’ll be able to do when you shop at MUJI’s new Plaza Singapura store.
The company held a bag design competition last June, with the theme of ‘Rediscovering Singapore’, a concept that’s synonymous with Found MUJI – where people are encouraged to discover the underlying values behind items that are either symbolic in the past, or prevalent in the present.
The top five winners of the competition will get the chance to have their bags displayed at MUJI’s new Plaza Singapura store, with each bag selling for $10. But more importantly, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Foundation.
If that isn’t a good reason to snap one up pronto, we’re not sure what is.
Learn more about MUJI: “What is MUJI?” Exhibition
Without a doubt, MUJI is one of the great design brands of the century. The Japanese retail company has stayed true to its ethos of creating low-cost, good quality products since its inception in 1980, a feat that deserves to be applauded, and replicated throughout the world.
If you’d like to learn more about what makes them tick, the company will be holding a special exhibition titled “What is MUJI?” from 21 to 30 July 2017, 10am to 10pm, at the Plaza Singapura Main Atrium, Level 1.
At this exhibition, you’ll be able to witness first-hand how MUJI’s products are meant to be sufficient, not embellished, and why their simple designs give so much satisfaction to users.
Displayed at the exhibition will be products like the Polycarbonate LED Flashlight; a vase-shaped translucent lamp that is weather resistant and features four different light settings, and the Mattress with Legs; a straightforward mattress that simply comes attached with four legs, making it look somewhat like a low-lying bed.
These products are just the tip of the iceberg though, and there’ll be a lot more stuff to check out once the exhibition debuts from 21 July onwards.
Date: 21 to 30 July 2017
Time: 10am to 10pm
Venue: Plaza Singapura, Main Atrium, Level 1
