What We're Adding To Our August Beauty Wishlist

We’re full-on into the Fall/Winter season, and the beauty brands are pushing out the exciting launches as quickly as ever. Below, all the things we are truly excited about, all hitting stores in the coming month.

etude-house-soon-jung

ETUDE HOUSE Soon Jung line
This new range from Etude House is looking a lot more pared down than what we’re used to, but that’s an accurate reflection of the products in this line – gentle products for sensitive skin, with formulas that are less acidic than usual, and 90% plant-derived ingredients. In the long term, these products serve to boost the skin protein, so it’s better equipped to defend itself against external aggressors.
If you need to stock up on travel-sized beauty products, each product also comes in a mini version, what the brand calls an “Easy Size”, that you can pack into your carry-on baggage. Super handy.
$5 to $33.90, available at ETUDE HOUSE stores from 1 August 2017.

KATE Tokyo 20th Anniversary Collection
It’s the eyeshadow palette you need to zoom in straight on – each of the 12 colours represent some of the brand’s most popular shades launched over the past two decades, complete with the launch year imprinted on each shade. The colours are all pretty much natural, covering beiges, champagnes and pastels that even a relative eyeshadow amateur would definitely be able to handle.
Other than that, there are all the usual base and eye basics: a liquid and powder foundation, and brow and eye essentials in various brown hues.
$14.50 to $39.90, available at selected Watsons and Sasa stores from August 2017.

burberry-cat-eyes-full-brows

Burberry Cat Eye and Full Brows
These eyeliners and brow liners might be confusing – they pretty much look the same. Thin-tipped liquid liner on one end, cushion-tipped powder on the other. It’s the eyeliner that’s interesting though: while it’s a standard liquid liner on one side, the powder is supposed to be an eyeshadow so you have the option of intensifying your look. As for the brow liner, the waterproof liquid formula is for precise filling in, while the waxy powder on the builds on the colour intensity for a fuller effect.
$52 to $62, available at TANGS at Tang Plaza, Sephora ION, tangs.com and sephora.sg from 4 August 2017.

rmk-fffuture

RMK FFFuture Collection
All those extra Fs stand for “Fast Forward Future”, and indeed this is some makeup packaging that’s quite ahead of its time. It’s actually a collaboration between RMK and Japanese fashion designer Taro Horiuchi, and you’ll see plenty of mirrored surfaces and palettes that look nothing like palettes, with the various components all sleekly packed into a triangular contraption. While some of the shades are quite out there, they go on in a blendable, shimmery texture – nothing too hard to work with.
$25 to $65, available at RMK counters from mid-August 2017.

nars-audacious-lipsticks

NARS Audacious Collection
These new shades are definitely audacious – 3 new colours for the Audacious Mascara, a purple, red brown, and navy. Of course, we get new lipstick colours: 6 of them, spanning a beige nude, a lavender grey, and even a chocolate brown. This is your chance to wear some bolder tones on the lashes and lips; we’re partial to the Audacious Lipstick in the shade Linda, a bright caramel.
$40 to $46, available at the NARS store and counters from August 2017.
