If you are one who has to open your mouth and make a weird face while tightlining your eyelids, this upcoming Instagram beauty trend that we’re about to introduce is probably not for you. The makeup look in question: bling waterlining. Created by an 18-year-old aspiring makeup artist from Denmark, what this trend requires you to do is to basically stick a chain of metal at your waterline. Say whut?
In an interview with Allure, Peterson said she no longer feels excited when she looks at her palettes and was stuck in a “creative crisis”, running out of makeup ideas to work on. She then looked to her jewellery box and found an old gold necklace and somehow decided to place it on her waterline. Why oh why? While we are currently blinking our eyes for no damn reason right now, this isn’t unfamiliar territory for Peterson. Previously, she had experimented with necklace clasps, rings, and even the butterfly-shaped earring backs by hanging them on her lids. Someone save us.
Though we totally agree that the look is pretty innovative and makes for a perfect festival look, sticking them on will probably take us hours. And we’re not even sure if those metallic stuff are hygienic enough to put on. We ain’t no eye doctor and we sure aren’t looking forward to seeing one, but kudos to Peterson for pulling off such a badass look that could potentially spawn a new trend of waterline stickers that will probably then have a higher standard of safety.
