5 Reasons to Binge Watch Vikings Season 5

Historical TV is all the rage these days, or at least shows that are set in a historical/fantasy setting are. Just look at Game of Thrones. We don’t see spaceships flying around in Westeros, yet it’s one of the greatest shows of all time. We put that level of popularity down to the raw, grittiness that comes in a world lacking technology, and how it subtly appeals to our primitive senses.

Well, A+E’s Vikings is no different. Back for its 5th season on Nov 30, 2017, the HISTORY Channel’s successful historical drama series returns with more violence, vengeance, and travails than ever before. In other words, it’s definitely a show not to be missed. And here are 5 solid reasons why you should be binge-watching its 5th season:
1) Rollo and Floki will return

Fans of Rollo and Floki will be pleased to know that both characters will be back in season 5. Rollo returns after his Mediterranean mission, while Floki faces the challenges of a new life by committing himself to the gods.
2) There’s the arrival of Heahmund
Bishop Heahmund, played by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, ended last season on a cliffhanger, so it would be interesting to see how he threatens the Vikings, especially since warrior bishops were very real in the past.
3) Look forward to more violence

No historical TV series is complete without a copious amount of gore, guts, and glory, and Vikings season 5 will have that in abundance, in particular the region of Kattegat – a trading station that everyone wants to get their hands on.
4) Family drama gets real
Last season, we saw Ivar killing his brother. But for this season’s sneak peek, we caught him actually weeping during the funeral. What does this mean for the family? Will the mystery as to why Ivar killed his own brother finally be solved?
5) Ragnar’s dream might finally be fulfilled

Even though Ragnar is gone, his presence is still pretty much felt. And that translates to his dream as well, which is to conquer new lands. Key to that are his sons Bjorn and Ubbe, both of whom might finally fulfill his wishes in season 5.
