Old Favourite Mr Softee Returns to Selected 7-Eleven Outlets in Singapore

For many primary school kids, a trip to 7-Eleven is the equivalent of a culinary pilgrimage. Away from the watchful eyes of parents, the store and more is a safe haven for indulging in all sorts of delicious junk food. And back when we were kids, one of our all-time favourites was Mr Softee, which sadly disappeared in the late 2000s.

Thankfully, the beloved soft serve ice cream has made a triumphant return to 7-Eleven this year, although it is still very much exclusive, like a dessert unicorn. Why? The old school ice cream is now available at a grand total of two 7-Eleven outlets (yes, just two), one at Choa Chu Kang Drive, Blk 689B and the other at Bukit Panjang, Blk 152A.

Why only two outlets, we have no idea. But at least you can now rest easy knowing that one of your childhood treats is back in business, and that McDonald’s won’t be the only option for cheap soft serve ice cream any longer.

Unfortunately, the only flavour available is vanilla. So if you’re looking to satisfy your chocolate or chendol kicks, you’ll have to go somewhere else. On the bright side, one cup of Mr Softee will set you back $1.50, which is a real bargain whichever way you look at it.
We just hope that the ice cream will soon be made available island wide, so we can relive our childhood memories once again without travelling all the way to Choa Chu Kang or Bukit Panjang.
