Get Yourself Some Kendrick Lamar Kicks

It’s been less than 3 weeks since the release of the first Nike X Kendrick Lamar Cortez collaboration but Nike already has another treat in store for Kenny’s fans. It has just released shots of its second iteration of its collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. Although it still features the same tricolours from the first version, the Cortez now comes in a saucy red canvas with white detailing on the Swoosh logo, the inner lining and the outsole of the shoe. The design also cheekily features the Lamar’s album name, embroidered in Chinese near the front of the shoes and the words ‘Don’t Trip’ down the black tongue label.
The colours may not be as subtle like New Balance’s pastel 574s but the colours perfectly complement each other instead of overwhelming each other and anyone looking at the shoes.

Last month, Nike announced the debut of the Cortez Kenny I in collaboration with rapper, Kendrick Lamar. As a tribute to his Grammy-winning album, DAMN, the white leather Cortez features contrasting red and black embroidery of the album’s name and the iconic Swoosh on the lateral sides of the shoes.
