We’re all set to welcome Spring with Etude House, who has just dropped a bright, cheery collection aptly titled Colorful Drawing that just makes us want to swatch everything. There’s just something about so appealing about Etude House’s packaging that keeps us going back for more even though we’re just about done obsessing over their recent Lucky Puppy and super trippy Be My Universe collection.
The colour palette of their latest collection, the Colorful Drawing range, is inspired by water colours and painting, together with the bright, flowery pastels that come hand in hand with spring. The simple yet quirky packaging that we love Etude House for doesn’t disappoint as well – with little squeezy tubes of blush that remind us of paint tubes, eyeshadow palettes encased in bold canvases that deserves a spot on a museum wall and a chic minimalistic lipstick tube (if you’re one of those people who love collection Etude House’s Lipstick cases).
Here’s a closer look at the entire Colorful Drawing range, which sees 10 new lipstick shades, cream blushers, magenta eyeliners, and even some hand wash. We also put together a couple of looks with some of our favourite beauty picks from the collection, so just scroll on.
Dear My Blooming Lips Talk Chiffon, $17.90
Add some colour to your lips with these chiffon lippies. The lipstick is a mix between a matte and satin finish, which means that it sits comfortably on your lips, with a very natural finish. The slightly sheer nature of the lipstick formula means that you can easily achieve the ombre effect by dabbing the colour on your inner lip and blending it outwards.

Colorful Drawing Water Color Blusher, $16.90
Add some colour to your cheeks with the Water Color Blusher, which will give you a natural pop of colour that looks similar to a watercolour painting. The cream blusher might seem very intense in colour when you first squeeze it out from the tube, but it blends out pretty easily. Use a brush to remove any excess product, or go over a few more times to if you would like a more vivid colour.

Fantastic Colour Eyes Palette, $19.90
Are you a cool or warm tones kind of person? Choose from two different palettes, which contains shades in both matte and pearl finishes to suit any and every occasion! Use a shimmery shade to catch the light, and a darker shade to add some depth.

Dear Darling Water Gel Tint, $8.90
If you don’t like the feeling of something on your lips, you might want to try a tint. The water gel tint will stain your lips for a good few hours, and will outwear any dining or drinking engagements you might have. Choose from a warm orange red or a cool cherry red.

Colorful Drawing Brush
If your face is a canvas, you need the right tools to paint on it. Etude House has released three new fluffy brushes with sleek gold and white handles. If you are planning on getting the Colorful Drawing Water Color Blusher but don’t have a blusher brush, you might want to pick this one up. The Duo Lip Brush is good for drawing a precise lip if you’re having trouble getting lining your pout!

Colorful Drawing Soft Hand Wash/ Lotion
Once you’re done, wash your hands with some refreshing citrus hand wash or keep your hands moisturised with some hand lotion. The vivid, pop-art inspired bottles also breathes a little life into your bathroom or you vanity table.

Enhance your natural glow to achieve that perfect dewy look
We used our face as our canvas and tried out the Colorful Drawing collection for ourselves. The lipsticks and eyeshadows colours are pretty sheer but buildable. For a more natural look, we chose pink and and cream colours to accentuate our eyes and lips. Our favourite item was the cream blusher, which blended out pretty well without looking too garish. The Color Blusher can be blended out with your fingers, but the Cream Blusher Brush is much better at evening out the colour and taking away any excess colour.

We also invited Charlotte Lum, an Instagramer who’s known for her gorgeous pastel photos, to try out the collection. Just like us, Charlotte loved the blusher, picking it as her favourite product from the Colorful Drawing Collection, and went for a rosy vibe with the rest of her makeup.

Throw in a little edginess for a more vibrant look
Sometimes, you might be feeling a little more expressive when you’re doing your makeup. The Colorful Drawing Collection also has more vibrant shades of lipstick, with a few shades of red to choose from because a red lip always makes a statement. We liked how the vibrant colours brought out a little edge, but didn’t come across as too unnatural or too overpowering. The eyeshadow colours in the Fantastic Colour Eyes Palette #Magenta Drawing are also really easy to blend and match to create more intense eye looks – perfect for experimenting!

Even blogger Melina Irwan, who normally prefers more neutral look, decided to take a bolder step with the Colorful Drawing Collection. Choosing a more vibrant red lip, Melina draws our attention to her signature pout.
