Do you ever look at Instagram Stories on a Tuesday and wonder, how is this person possibly overseas again? Granted, the NYLON team gets many opportunities taking turns to travel for press trips (at least once every few weeks, in fact!). We also get a mountain of beauty products to review; so much so that many of us haven’t bought a beauty product in months years. For the rest of us bound to our screens, slogging away planning our leave dates months in advance, work just doesn’t seem as fun as jetting to California for Coachella, or the powdery slopes of Tomamu to ski. And speaking of not working, advertising agency GREY Media New York sent out this memo to their staff earlier this month:
We did the math; you TECHNICALLY earn more from a four-day work week by the percentage of your salary you take home. It’s also being promoted as a reaction to employee feedback, which shows how GREY is mindful of increasing productivity over prioritising clocking in more work hours. We’re not sure how many Singaporeans would actually take up such an offer if available, especially since many of those who apply for such schemes might get side-eyed by their colleagues. Well, if even the Singapore government is promoting
flexible work programmes, then we know it’s time to embrace the new age of nine to five.
