Camo has made a comeback late last year, much to the dismay of our male friends over 21. However, we have a feeling with Converse’s latest collaboration, they’ll start embracing camo again. Converse has teamed up with sneaker boutique, Sneakersnstuff (SNS) to release a limited-edition capsule Converse One Star collection, featuring the iconic military print.
The One Star is the star of the collection (pun intended), made of a mix of suede and leather. Different colours are also weaved into the pattern for a dynamic aesthetic. The shoes are debuting in two colourways – the classic brown/green “canteen” palette and a purple/grey “deep lavender” version.
In an official statement about the unique choice of stitched leather in the shoe, Erik Fagerland co-founder of Sneakersnstuff said: “We wanted to elevate the print by stitching leather together in a slow, unnatural process. We do not believe in taking shortcuts. This is not fast fashion. The collection is thorough, genuine and displays a high level of craftsmanship.”
Around the sole of the sneaker, the foxing tape features a military laundry tag and a debossed “SNS” logo on the heel. The iconic star is featured on the sides of the sneakers, which is lined with goat leather for extra durability and lightness.
As Fagerland mentioned, camo is an essential pattern in fashion and streetwear. It transforms the piece into an edgy and fashionable item and effortlessly elevates a simple look into one that’s fit for the streets.
The exclusive Converse x SNS (SGD169.90) in canteen palette will be available at Dover Street Market in Singapore, from 12 April.
The full collection will be available at Sneakersnstuff, Sneakersnstuff.com, Converse.com.
