According to the retailer Pretty Little Thing, the “distressed bum detail” is best for “hitting the town with your bestie”. Also useful for those who are wedgie-prone.

MOTO Clear Plastic Straight Leg Jeans

Spending money to not look like you are wearing anything seems to be the future of fashion, at least according to Topshop. Last year, they released this completely see-through jeans (USD$100, $133.87) fashioned entirely out of plastic. It promises to be a sweaty affair — plastics aren’t exactly known for their breathability. Pros? Dries quickly after laundry day. Also great for showing off those cute pairs of knickers. Cons? Moisture. We wouldn’t recommend anyone with sweat glands to wear this.

Wild Thang Lace Up Pants

In most cases, the adage “less is more” can be very useful. But for e-tailer Fashion Nova, they took the advice way too literally. They created a piece of bottom (USD$49.99, $66.92) that is basically 30 per cent fabric and 70 per cent rope, we can only imagine the ugly tan lines you will get when wearing this in our weather. It barely looks like a pair of jeans, while missing the mark of being swimwear. It’s confusing to look at, and even more so to put on.

If you’re looking for something lowkey to wear, this is it (USD$168, $224.90). There’s nothing that shows off your nonchalance like wearing some overpriced pockets, and nothing else. Their “large statement cutouts” help ensure maximum comfort. And if you feel like you’re not wearing anything, you’re right. But hey, at least you’ve got pockets!

Detachable Button Down Pants

The trouble of taking off your pants when visiting the washroom can easily be solved with a diaper, but also with this revolutionary crotch-less pants from Y Project (USD$399, $534.30) . It features a waist piece and two leg pieces connected to the top by some strips of fabric, and there is absolutely nothing in the middle — no pockets, no zippers, nothing to cover your entire crotch.
