Make sure you sort these before travelling to Melbourne

We’re almost halfway through the year and we’re already thinking about a break…. And it doesn’t help that we’ve been dreaming about our last trip to Melbourne. And from the looks of all the comments on our Facebook, many of you guys are travelling there too! If that’s you, here are 3 things that will make your life easier:

1. iVenture Australia Flexi Attractions Pass

iVentureAustraliaFlexiAttractionsPass
Going on holiday is all about exploring and sight-seeing. Since you’ve already splurged on the air ticket, multi-attraction passes are essential for a wallet-friendly holiday. With this iVenture Card, you can choose up to 10 attractions, including the Werribee Open Range Zoo, Melbourne Star Observation Wheel and Philip Island Nature Park. You can even customise your own itinerary to suit your interests and preferences. In our opinion, the best thing about this card is that we can also include attractions in other parts of Australia like Sydney, Tasmania and Gold Coast – perfect if you’re planning a multi-city trip.

iVenture Australia Flexi Attraction Pass, from $184.60. Book here.

2. 4G Portable WiFi

You know you want WiFi. Getting a local SIM card for everyone on the trip is fairly expensive (and limited), so choose this instead! You need just one device for everyone, and it’s unlimited data for the entire trip! You also get to pick it up in Singapore before you leave. Very convenient.

4G Portable WiFi for Australia (pick up from Singapore), $8/day. Book here

3. Round-trip Transport To/Fro Melbourne Airport

You were cramped on a plane… no need to be cramped on a train. Book a round trip shuttle service to your accommodation in advance!

Round-trip Shuttle Service from Airport, from $46. Book here.

Now that you’ve got all your pre-trip essentials, we’ve got some extra suggestions for your itinerary. Melbourne is known for its vibrant culture, claiming the unofficial title of “cultural and sporting capital” of Australia. Adrenaline junkies can opt for skydiving, and nature-lovers can go for an off-road Safari experience but if you’re into the art scene, here are some things you should definitely check out in Melbourne…

1. Visit the Museum of Modern Art at National Gallery of Victoria

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York is on the bucket list for art lovers all around the world. If you’re one of them, you’ll be delighted to know that MoMA is having an exhibition in Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria (NGV)! More than 200 modern and contemporary works from MoMA’s priceless collection, including pieces by Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Frida Kahlo will be on display at NGV. The exhibition will be opened from June to October, so if you’re planning a trip to Melbourne during this period, you should definitely check it out.

MoMA at NGV: 130 Years of Modern and Contemporary Art Exhibition, $24. Book here

2. Watch Verdi’s La Traviata

VerdisLaTraviataatArtCentreMelbourne
We don’t get to watch operas often in Singapore so you should definitely try and catch one while you’re in Australia. The Sydney Opera House comes to mind when we think of operas in Australia, but if you’re visiting Melbourne soon, you’re in luck! The Art Centre Melbourne is showing two iconic operas – Puccini’s La Bohème and Verdi’s La Traviata. Unfortunately, La Bohème is already sold out but you can still catch Verdi’s most famous opera! Just hurry book your tickets if you’re interested because the last time we checked, the tickets were selling fast.

Verdi’s La Traviata at Art Centre Melbourne, $278.50. Book here.
