Remember a time when colouring books were still a thing?
Growing up in a pre-iPad and iPhone era (I know, unimaginable right?) meant that we didn’t have Flappy Bird or Crossy Road to spend our time. Instead, we had colouring books and the excitement of choosing from a wide range of shades to create fridge door-worthy masterpieces. In fact, our first brush with colour would have probably stemmed from rumbling through boxes of colouring pencils and crayons to find that perfect hue you had in your head.
And if you thought that your colouring days are long over, art supplies brand Crayola is giving you new reasons to start colouring again—58 reasons, in fact. Known famously for their vivid crayons, the brand recently dropped Crayola Beauty, a 58-piece makeup collection of over 95 different shades.
The comprehensive collection will be available exclusively on ASOS, with items that include colour-changing lipsticks, eye palettes, highlighters, mascaras, and a brush kit. Items are also designed to resemble a crayon (cute!), along with Crayola’s branding and that familiar squiggly line motif. Even the iconic green-yellow packaging will make an appearance in the Colour Crayon Trio—a set of three versatile face crayon that can be applied on the eyes, lips, and cheeks.
ASOS said in a press release: “Your face is the canvas, and Crayola Beauty is the tool that allows you to experiment and express yourself. Go play.”
Prices are also made affordable, with items ranging from £9 to £25 ($16 to $44). There’s no better time to pick up a crayon and start colouring again. But this time, try not to stay within the lines.
