Chope’s birthday is certainly a gift that keeps on giving. Previously, they gave out 70 cents mains as part of their celebration. For more treats, stay tuned here.

1. Plentyfull

Avocado Toast ($14)
Crème Brûlée French Toast ($15) with fresh cream and seasonal fruits

The menu at Plentyfull is inspired by the best of what nature has to offer. Think Fried Organic Egg & Mushroom Toast ($18) with burnt scallion yogurt and Avocado Toast served on grilled sourdough ($14; you know we can’t miss out on anything avocado). With equal emphasis placed on the taste of the dish, as well as the provenance of ingredients, the result is thoughtfully fresh meals available through the day (and night). Try dropping by during lunch for fuss-free customisable meals, or come by at night and load up on their a la carte offerings.

2. CreatureS

Like its historically-rich location, the food at CreatureS retains the same cultural diversity. For instance, their Chinese Household Pasta Vongole ($24) adapts the usual fare with playful additions of chilli padi and hua tiao wine, while the Crispy Chicken Rendang ($23) pokes fun at the MasterChef controversy, resulting in this cheeky update of a local favourite. Here, you’ll find a nod to local flavours throughout the menu, from starters to desserts, creating a novel yet familiar dining experience.

3. Pince and Pints

Grilled lobster ($58)
The Truffle Roll ($58) with shaved truffle and truffle caviar

Some things go hand-in-hand—like discounts and Singaporeans, and seafood and booze. Pince and Pints allows seafood-lovers to indulge in a decadent feast of fresh lobsters and crustaceans. The restaurant also works with sustainable supplies, allowing you to savour items like their classic Lobster Roll ($58) and the indulgent Live Whole Lobster ($58) without worry. Be prepared to get your hands dirty—it’s the best way to enjoy the food here—and wash it all down with a couple of cold pints.

4. The LoKal

There’s something about cafes and their food that keeps Singaporeans coming back for more. And The Lokal is one we wouldn’t mind returning to. The interior is intimate and cosy, and the food is just as comforting. Drop by and you’ll find usual suspects like Buttermilk Pancakes ($17) with marinated strawberries and homemade ricotta and Truffle Fries ($10; you get to choose between shoestring and thick-cut)—best had during brunch with friends over a warm cup of coffee.

5. Salt Grill & Sky Bar

Elevate your dining experience with classic Australian dishes, served against a backdrop of our scenic cityscape. Salt Grill & Sky Bar is seated on the 55th floor of ION Orchard, and features a menu as dramatic as its views. From the a la carte menu, try the grilled Cape Grim Pasture-fed Ribeye ($85) with confit tomato and marrow, or the Organic Free-range Egg Crab Omelette with enoki mushroom and herb salad ($33). And to round off the meal, getting a stiff drink while taking in the view is of the highest order.

6. Shukuu Izakaya

Kurobuta Pork Ribs ($22)
Tori Kara-Age ($10)

True to its name, Shukuu Izakaya is a friendly Japanese pub serving sakes and highballs to go along their moorish selection of food. Food like the sweet and tender Kurobuta Pork Ribs ($22) or crispy Tori Kara-Age ($10) make for great sharing bites, and best washed down with their extensive sake collection. They also have donburis and udon for those looking for a more substantial meal.

7. Meat Smith (Little India)

Meat lovers will find joy in Meat Smith and their protein-centric menu. It’s easy to understand why items like their beef and pork ribs are firm favourites—the meat is smoked over hickory wood for up to 12 hours, making them fall-off-the-bone tender. In particular, their outlet in Little India fuses Indian spices in their barbecue process, creating flavourful, smoky renditions like the Coconut Chutney Pork Ribs ($26), Date Glazed Beef Rib ($48), and Tandoori 1/2 Chicken ($18).
