Lomography’s Back Again With An Upgraded Diana Camera

It’s been nearly 6 decades ever since the initial invention of the Diana film camera in the 1960s, by a Hong Kong manufacturing company. Back then as a cheap plastic toy camera, it was known for its soft-focus images – which was (at that time) considered to be unsatisfactory.

However, for several years now, Lomography has been reproducing the antique analogue camera with upgraded features – the Diana F+ and Diana Mini 35 mm, to name a few. With such well-received responses towards their refurbished Diana models, Lomography has recently started a Kickstarter project for their all-new Diana Instant Square

Much like its predecessors, the Diana Instant Square creates unpredictable, dream-like images in strong, saturated colours. What sets it apart though, are the various additional features and accessories. Unlike previously where users had to attach the Diana Instant Back+ to the Diana F+, the Diana Instant Square produces instant images all in one compact design for your convenience. Furthermore, for existing users, the new camera is compatible with all interchangeable lenses from the Diana F+ and all Lomo’Instant Square Glass lens attachments.

In order from left to right, top to bottom: 75 mm kit lens, 110 mm telephoto lens, 38 mm super-wide-angle lens, 55 mm wide-angle lens, 55 mm close-up attachment, 20 mm fisheye lens.

The camera also includes features such as unlimited multiple exposures and long exposures, manual aperture and focus, and 2 shutter speeds.Besides having a hot-shoe mount for fitting other flashes, including the original Diana F+ flash, it also comes with a selfie mirror, while you’re free to opt for accessories such as colour filters. Additionally, each lens comes with a detachable viewfinder for you to take the optimal shot according to the lens that you’re using. With all these amazing features, you’ll be able to play around and achieve different effects with relative ease – so no worries if you’re a beginner at film!
