There’s just something so universally appealing about Sanrio’s characters. Hello Kitty has everyone going nuts about her, but we haven’t forgotten about her best friend – My Melody. The pink bunny who’s usually seen wearing a red or pink hood also hangs out with Flat the mouse and Risu the squirrel, and now has her very own cafe here!
The My Melody cafe is opening today 7 June, and is conveniently located next to our favourite lazy egg, Gudetama’s cafe in Suntec City Mall. Just look at how adorable the little cafe is!
Brought to you by the same folks who started up the Gudetama cafe, the menu at My Melody cafe is also styled by local chef Little Miss Bento.
The cozy cafe is expected to have long queues, with only 38 seats available. The entire cafe is designed to look like an indoor garden, which isn’t surprising because My Melody was born in the woods. The most coveted table is this corner with pink cottage walls to really make you feel like you’re in a pastel pink world.
There’s also a huge My Melody figurine waiting to greet you at the entrance of the cafe. From baskets of strawberries and My Melody placemats on flower-shaped tables and plates, everything here screams their ‘Strawberry Paradise’ theme.
The menu is filled with bites, desserts, and tons of diabetes-inducing drinks, and while all the food is mostly centred around My Melody, you might be able to spot some of her friends hiding in your food!
