Work Up A Sweat With The Apple Gymkit In Virgin Active Singapore

As if the Apple Watch is not already intelligent enough, the smartwatch has rolled out more features. This gadget not only provides information from the Apple News app and updates users based on their settings, it also allows users to pair their Apple Watch directly to cardio equipment.

Originally introduced in 2017 with watchOS 4, this amazing feature is called Gymkit. Two Virgin Active outlets, in Holland Village and Duo Galleria, are the first to launch Apple Gymkit-enabled equipment in Singapore. You will be able to sync data seamlessly from treadmills, ellipticals, indoor bikes or stair steppers. More reasons to go to the gym – instead of merely checking out the hunks and babes there!

Cardio machines require you to hold on to handles for the sensors to pick up your heart-rate. With Gymkit, you will no longer have to do that. The Watch records your heart-rate with higher accuracy. Look Ma, no hands! Calories, distance, speed, floors climbed, incline and pace are other examples of the stats that Gymkit transfers over.

Workouts are now simplified; all you will have to do is press ‘Start’ on the machine. Truly, an Apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Gymkit will progressively roll out across all of Virgin Active’s 5 branches by the middle of 2019.

The Apple Watch is available in several colours and two case sizes: 38mm and 42mm. Series 1 retails from $398. It will be available to order from online and for purchase at select Apple Stores, Apple Authorised Resellers and carriers.
