The Newest Fujifilm XF10 Gives You DSLR-quality Images

If you’re on a lookout for an easy-to-handle, premium camera to use, then the FUJIFILM XF10 might be what you need to spruce up your feed. Or to capture memories (but in high quality resolution). Fujifilm’s newest launch is a powerful, yet compact digital camera with a FUJINON 18.5mm F2.8 fixed lens. We love that it’s lightweight (280g), which makes travelling much easier especially with less bulk.

Amidst other brand new functions, the camera features a 24.2 megapixel APS-C sized sensor that is 14 times larger than the sensor in a standard smartphone.

APS-C sensors are usually more common in DSLR cameras, but you’ll find it here too; it’s a relatively large sensor that’s able to capture more light, while giving you more control over an image’s depth of field for that nice bokeh — basically, you can get DSLR-quality images in this compact frame!

Combined with FUJIFILM’s unique colour reproduction technology, the camera produces high quality images.

Also, the XF10’s “SQUARE MODE” allows you to switch to 1:1 format with a single flick on the touchscreen, which means they are insta-ready right from the get go. It’s like an in-built crop that’s good news for Instagram junkies.

Enhanced bluetooth connectivity also allows users to transfer their photos seamlessly from the camera to smartphone.

Main features include:

  • Compact size (280g) and APS-C Sized sensor

The XF10 promises superior image quality with the APS-C sized sensor which enables wide dynamic range, and produces sharp, high res images. The APS-C sized sensor is 14 times larger than the sensor found in a standard smartphone.

  • The high quality FUJINON lens covers a range of subjects — from snapshots to landscapes.

The 18.5mm F2.8 FUJINON lens *equivalent to 28mm on 35mm format, ensures that the entire image is sharp. Also, despite its compact size, it promises no compromise on image quality. The “Digital Teleconverter” function allows users to take photos with equivalent focal lengths of 35mm & 50mm on a 35mm format.

  • SQUARE MODE (1:1 format)

With a single swipe on the touchscreen (rear LCD monitor), photos are automatically cropped to a square which makes it easier to upload your photos onto your socials.

  • 4K Movie and High Speed Video recording functions
  • FUJIFILM’s unique Film Simulation and Advanced Filter modes

You might have heard of the #filmisnotdead trend. In case you missed it, film photography is trendy again.

This digital camera offers 11 Film Simulation modes (unique to FUJIFILM) and 19 Advanced Filters that adds film-like colour tones to photos. So in that sense, you get a taste of both digital and film.

Out of these advanced filters, XF10 boasts 2 new filters, namely “Rich & Fine” and “Monochrome (NIR)”:

Rich & Fine

This filter is recommended for food/ tabletop photography. Brighter, more vivid colours are concentrated in the center of the image. Also, slight shadows are created at photo corners to emphasize the subject.

Monochrome (NIR)

This filter replicates a Monochrome effect, as if taken by near-infrared cameras.
