Review: I Tried The HERA Bubble Awakening Mask And Here’s What I Think

When this product came into the office and I was tasked to review it, I was honestly pretty excited to try it. I mean, when else would I get to try a HERA product! So you can probably imagine how hyped I was when this was handed to me.

Retails at $38, for 50ml

What is it?

Basically, this product is a skin priming bubble mask that purifies your pores and smoothens out your skin’s texture before makeup. Oxygen gas that has been trapped in the gel gets released as you apply the product – forming bubbles that clean the pores by lifting sebum and dirt to the  skin’s surface. It’s also formulated with Lemon Balm and Peppermint leaf extracts to retain moisture in the skin.

How does it feel?

All you have to do is apply this on your dry, pre-cleansed face in circular motions. Then wait for it to bubble for a minute or so before rinsing. And I must say, I was pretty surprised at how quickly this started to bubble up. As it bubbled, it felt like carbonated soda and more “fizzy” – almost ticklish even – than the Mamonde Petal Purifying Bubble Mask that I have.

The verdict

Once I’d rinsed my face, my skin actually felt fresher, cleaner and smoother than prior to using the mask. I kid you not! So I’m really glad to tell you that this product actually delivers what it claims to do. What’s more to love? The fact that it is convenient to squeeze out AND it rinses off pretty easily without taking up too much time – we all know how precious our time is in the mornings!

Of course, you’re not only limited to using this in the mornings too. This product is great anytime you want to give your skin a little perk-me-up. If you’re wondering, isn’t that a bit too much work to do in the mornings? Well, maybe it is. But at least you’re only supposed to use this 1-2 times a week, so perhaps just save it for when you have a bit more time to spare!
