Leslie Kee Debuts ‘Out In Singapore’ Exhibition

Singaporean photographer Leslie Kee is known for his portraits of Madonna, Kate Moss, and J.Lo. Before he made his way into Hollywood, Leslie Kee made a name for himself in Japan shooting fashion editorials, and has even captured over 1,600 portraits for his LGBT project, Out In Japan.

Just in time for Pink Dot, Leslie will be holding an exhibition in Singapore featuring portraits of 150 individuals from the LGBT community here. The Out In Singapore exhibition is a continuation of its sister project, Out In Japan. Intermission Bar at The Projector will be hosting the exhibition, which will run from today till 29 July.

LGBT people tend to shy from the spotlight, especially as a social minority in a country like Singapore. By shining the gentle spotlight on these LGBT individuals, Leslie hopes that the public can familiarise themselves with members of the marginalised community and accept them as part of our society.

Every July in Singapore, LGBTQ individuals gather together for Pink Dot to share their freedom to love and encourage a more open-minded and inclusive society. This year, Pink Dot will be held at Hong Lim Park on 21 July.
