Louis Vuitton’s launch of its New Wave collection is a revisit of the musical genre of the Eighties, and we’re feeling it. It’s a collection that’s a little different from the luxury brand’s signature chic style, inspired by the 1980s for a relaxed, colourful tone that gives the bag a playful twist. It’s fun, and yet still formal enough to be suitable for both day and night use.
The New Wave collection reflects the joyful vibe of the Eighties as its name suggests, but still manages to capture LV’s signature sleek style. Apart from the subtle quilted design, our favourite part is the rainbow silkscreen motif that spells out “Vuitton” on the bag handles. Meant to reprise the energetic rhythm of waves, and coupled with summer colours like Smoothie pink and Malibu green, the collection boasts a lot of character especially for a soft, gentle summer party look. Three colours Snow (white), Smoothie pink and Malibu green are offered as pre-fall seasonal colours.
The collection also features constant neo-classics in black and red for bolder and slicker looks.
We love that the shoulder bags come with multi-wear chains, which makes it extra versatile for each situation. The shoulder bag style can be worn over the shoulder, cross-body or short.
The line also features classic chain totes, which also carries the same beautiful wavy quilted look.
