Who doesn’t love walking into a Superga store? There’s always a rainbow of sneakers to choose from! Not only are their silhouettes versatile and stylish, they come in so many colours that we never run out of ideas when pairing them with our favourite outfits.
However, the sneakers are getting a revamp in Alexa Chung’s exclusive capsule collection with Superga for 2018. The model-turned-designer has put her own spin on the Superga design, creating 5 different styles which come in an array of materials and textures and is personalised with Chung’s signature ‘A’ branding on the insock, rubber patch and the tongue.
Chung opted for a classic and versatile off white for the Superga Cotw 2292 and Superga Cotw 2294, adding a toe cap to add freshness to the silhouette. The hue is easy to match and you can even personalise it with your own doodles to show off the creative side! Because they have canvas uppers, you can use fabric markers or fabric paint to add your own designs without worrying about the colour running on rainy days.

The slip-on mules also come with a terry towel upper for a unique texture. It may sound weird at first but once you lay eyes on them, you’ll definitely find yourself considering this pair of shoes. The material absorbs water so you may want to invest in a good shoe protectant spray or avoid sporting these shoes on a rainy day.

If you like your kicks more colourful and eye-catching, Chung has designed the Superga 2492 in a elegant satin that catches the light for extra shine and an inner cotton lining for a comfy and breathable fit. The design comes in gorgeous hues – baby blue and emerald green.

For a more formal look, Chung has transformed the Superga 2750s by opting for a varnish upper that gives the shoe high shine. We’re not sure what it is about varnish finishes but it just makes the person seem more put together, don’t you think? This shoe allows us to slide into a pair of comfortable sneakers without worrying about being underdressed or, more importantly, in pain.
