There’re few things Singaporeans have cared about in recent history: the hoity-toity drama of Singapore’s Lee family and their Oxley Road house, and the outrage over news that GRAB just acquired UBER. GRAB hasn’t had the best reputation, in terms of services and their standards-and-practices when it came to switching UBER drivers and customers to GRAB, so many users have naturally taken to social media to lament the loss of their ability to choose cheaper prices and better customer management.
If your soft spot for UBER has you cringing at the idea of switching to GRAB, a Singapore-based private-hire car service app RYDE could just be your knight in shining armour who’ll whisk you away to… the taxi stand at Somerset 313?
Besides their rather lame advertising video, using RYDE seems fairly easy and similar to GRAB and UBER. We’re not sure if putting great smiles and friendly drivers as the unique selling point of the app will set our expectations too high… we’ll just have to try the app out ourselves.
